The Award-Winning Solution
The winning entry is ”Reframe Your Response,” an immersive Virtual Reality training experience designed to de-escalate o6354ccupational violence and aggression (OVA). This isn’t a theoretical concept-it’s a tangible tool now being rolled out to 11,000 Western Health staff.
The experience immerses healthcare workers in hyper-realistic, high-stakes scenarios, allowing them to safely practice and reframe their responses. The technology behind it is key to its effectiveness and award-winning impact:
Utilizing Epic’s MetaHuman technology and professional motion capture, we created authentic, high-fidelity avatars that convey genuine human emotion and nuance-a level of realism previously accessible only to major film studios.
Cutting-edge VR creates a psychologically safe space where staff can experience challenging interactions without real-world risk.
The unique design allows staff to experience scenarios from both the healthcare worker’s and the patient’s perspective, fostering profound empathy and understanding.
